Script Alcoso above ACS scales Solingen TM. As stated by Frederick J. Stephens in the supplementary notes to his reprint of the The ALCOSO Sales Catalogue (circa 1937) this (Initials A C S and Scales with the script lettering Alcoso, [was] the form of trademark commonly found on production pieces of the late-1930’s”. The silver plated hilt fittings show light surface wear with surface speckling to the upper pommel and reverse crossguard. The medium yellow, solid celluloid grip with nice age toning, shows light surface wear with nicks to the ridges of several of the swirls on the obverse and one nick on the lower reverse. Polished blade grades EX/EX+ showing runner marks to the flats of the blade with minor gray speckling but, no pitting or nicks to cutting edges, and no damage to blade tip. Blade is complete with dark brown leather buffer pad. Dent free silver plated scabbard shows minor surface wear but, no lifting to the pebbled shell and features two, side-mounted, flat head retaining screws. screws used throughout Alcoso production. Patina on all metal components match perfectly. EX+
