Description

These superb epaulettes were recently obtained in Germany and come complete with a color photocopy of the epaulettes and the Royal Prussian cipher from the period publication, “Atlas des Deutschen Reichsheers” published in Dresden in 1901. Epaulettes are for a military official in the rank of Leutnant assigned to the Royal Prussian “Proviant-Amt” (Commissariat/Supply Office). Epaulettes are constructed of golden yellow wool with dark blue wool on the underside, and with the shoulder strap edged in gilt/blue bullion braid with a gilt metal crescent at the sleeve end. Crescent is stamped to simulate bullion broidery. Inside the sleeve end is the Royal Prussian crest consisting of the Prussian eagle in gilt on a white background and surmounted by the Prussian crown. Epaulettes come complete in dark green/black marbleized cardboard figure 8-shaped case liked in blue cardboard. Case is complete with the original tissue wrapping paper. Rare set of epaulettes in superb, museum condition! MINT (22065) SOLD
