Aug. Merten Ww. Solingen-G.R., “M” over oak leaf sprig TM. Hilt fittings show light surface wear and minor age patina. Reverse lower crossguard group marked, “Wm” (Westmark). Medium reddish brown fine-grained wooden grip has chips on upper edge above the SA roundel and a minor chip below the right wing of the eagle insert, as well as, there are minor indentations due to wear/age. Silver grip eagle and SA insert are inset in the grip. Polished blade grades EX+/EX++ showing light surface wear/runner marks and some minor gray speckling to both sides, but no nicks to cutting edges and tip of blade remains intact. Deeply etched motto retains 100% of the medium gray background frosting. Steel anodized scabbard shows light surface wear and one minor indentation in the upper reverse side of scabbard near the upper fitting. Nickel-silver scabbard fittings show light age patina, with indentations and scratches on lower fitting and ball has a couple indentations around edge and is slightly smashed in on the tip.
