Description
It is ranked 7 out of 10 on the SA McSarr rarity-rating list. The blade has visible bluing with a couple of minor nicks/indentations to the cutting edge. Very little runner marks, greying and spotting are visible on the surface of this blade, which is typical from in and out wear of the scabbard and its age. The acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto and Gebr. Bell maker marks are both nice and crisp, with a light gray contrasting tone. The tip of the blade is intact. The dagger fits nicely into and out of the scabbard. The nickeled crossguards and pommel nut have a nice mellowing patina color that matches the scabbard upper and lower fittings. The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamped with a “P”. The wood grip has a hairline crack from the eagle inset to the lower crossguard and has a couple of minor nicks on the reverse side of grip. Early grip eagle and SA roundel fit perfectly on the grip. The brown anodized scabbard shows normal surface wear. The nickel fittings are complete, and their patina matches perfectly with the hilt fittings. Complete with the 4 period dome head screws. The lower scabbard fitting has a couple of minor scratches on the reverse side, but the tip ball is intact with no damage.
