Description
A, C and S (Alcoso) within stylized scales TM. Heavy brass lion head hilt shows nice definition. Langet features oak leaves and acorns and crossed cannons. Celluloid-over-wood grip has its triple wire wrap, but it has come loose in sections. Scabbard is the nickel plated type showing light age, but considering the age of this sword, it is in superior condition. Two scabbard rings are intact. Beautiful plated blade shows quality engraving. On the obverse is deep, acid-etched floral motif, with the center having crossed swords. Reverse has the floral motif deeply etched, running about 14″ down the panel. In the center is a smooth presentation area where the following is engraved, “Unserem lieben Oberleutnant Jagerung von Lutzow 1929” (To our dear 1st Lieutenant, Hunting Group von Lutzow 1929). This is beautifully jeweler engraved in the finest manner. Spine of the blade is also nicely engraved. Brown leather blade buffer pad is intact. Quality engraved blades of this type are a work-of-art, and would be a centerpiece of any serious sword collector. EX++.
