King’s Head (WKC) stamped TM. Heavily chiseled, patinated hilt fittings show light wear to the pommel, floral embellished spine, and ornate knuckle-bow. The crossguard “D” pattern clamshell features Saint George Killing Dragon and lion heads on the upturned crossguard quillons. Genuine mother-of-pearl grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips. Delicate, straight, double-edged blade grades EX++ with light surface runner marks on the obverse/reverse and very minor gray speckling, but no lifting or nicks to cutting edges and is complete with original red felt blade buffer pad. Both obverse and reverse blade features blued ricassos and long blued panels with blued and gilded etched panels featuring floral and military motifs of crossed cannon barrels and military flags. The panels show minor wear to the bluing but, no major loss of factory finish. Delicate black leather scabbard shows minor surface wear to smooth leather, but no rips, tears, or damage to the reverse stitching. Dent-free, silver upper and lower scabbard fittings show only minor wear with upper scabbard having three line engraving. First line is not discernable but, the last word clearly is Munchen. The obverse upper fitting is complete with a suspension lug with floral motif.One-of-a-kind Imperial Court Sword never before encountered by JRB&M. EX++.
