Description
King’s Head (WKC) stamped TM. Heavily chiseled, gilded hilt fittings show wear to the pommel, floral embellished spine, and ornate knuckle-bow. The crossguard “D” pattern clamshell features a reclining lion and lion heads on the upturned crossguard quillons. Genuine mother-of-pearl grip plates are loose but, have no cracks or chips. Delicate, straight, double-edged blade grades VG+ with runner marks on the obverse/reverse, speckling and many spots of rust throughout. Both obverse and reverse blade features blued ricassos and gilded etched panels featuring floral and military motifs of crossed cannon barrels and military flags. The panels show wear to the bluing, speckling and surface rust. Delicate black leather scabbard shows almost no wear and grades near MINT. Dent-free, gilded upper and lower scabbard fittings show only minor wear. The obverse upper fitting is complete with a suspension lug with floral motif. Degen is complete with orange felt storage bag showing much age and holes throughout. EX
