Gilded brass hilt fittings showing surface wear to the highlights with 70% of the gilding remaining to the ornate, oak leaf embellished, ball-type pommel with raised pommel cap, knuckle-bow and plain crossguard. Sword features an obverse folding unembellished clamshell showing loss of gilding. Grip features tight wire wrapped grip with no cracks or chips. Double-etched blade grades EX++ showing no lifting, pitting or nicks to cutting edge and is complete with damaged red buffer pad. Both obverse and reverse blade features long etched floral panels with a raised floral/geometric motif. Black leather scabbard shows some light surface wear and one very minor crease but, no damage to the reverse stitching. Upper and lower gilded brass scabbard fittings show surface wear to gilding but, no depressions. Attached to the sword is the original bullion portepee which is heavily patinated and grades EX+ showing minor wear. EX+.
