Description
A rare Imperial German Navy Officer’s dagger, measuring 16 1/2 inches total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features an 8 3/4 inch long unsharpened Damascus steel blade, with dual narrow fullers. Complete with red felt buffer pad. The hilt consists of a gilded bronze crossguard, featuring double-sided central fouled anchors, and a functional push-button release. The grip is off-white bone with original twisted wire, shows age/wear but is chip free. The pommel is the German State Crown. The pebbled scabbard shows much wear/age, with one minor indentation just below the lower suspension band on the obverse side. The portepee is tied to the hilt, has fraying and shows wear/age.
