Description
No Maker. This sword measures 36” in length and the blade measures 30.5”. The blade has some gray speckling and runner marks with no nicks to the cutting edge and the tip remains intact. The red buffer pad is torn but present. The brass “D” guard with folding clam shell is in excellent condition with the lion’s head motif; no glass eyes. The white celluloid grip has no cracks and one brass wire wrap. The reverse of the folding guard is unit marked “O 836”. The O represents a unit that was stationed in the Ostsee which is the Baltic Sea. The front of the clamshell has the anchor scene. The black leather scabbard is in EXC++/Near MINT condition with a couple scuff marks and the three brass fittings are dent free and very detailed with the upper fitting having the matching unit number consistent with the folding guard number. The folding guard does lock into place.
