Description
Carl Eickhorn – Solingen etched squirrel TM. The blade has gray speckling, Very tiny nicks to the cutting edge but retains its pointed tip. There is a dedication on the obverse side of the blade that reads “E RINNERUNG AN SCHUNE TAGE, DA WIR FURS LEBEN FESTE FREUNDSCHAFT SCHLOSSEN” AND DATED “1.11.1935 – 12.2.1936. DORERITZ”. The dedication says “Memories of beautiful days when we forged a lifelong friendship”. The nickel/silver hilt shows age/wear with a dark patina. The reverse side of crossguard has a beautiful personalization of “Rainer s/l Hans zum 20 April 1936”. The medium orange grip is beautiful showing little to no wear and has no nicks or chips. The pommel cap has a few dings around the cap area but otherwise is in EXC++ condition. The scabbard has dark patina, has a few tiny dings to the edging of the scabbard but otherwise is dent free, the hanger bands are securely in place with attached o-rings, and the 2 upper screws are securely in place. The Army hangers show age/wear with minor fraying to the edges of straps, the backing is an army green material that shows wear, and the upper fittings are all marked with DRGM, as well as the back of both lower clips.
