Description
Double maker marked blade with reverse stamped in two parallel lines E.F. HORSTER and SOLINGEN. Obverse stamped with stylized double H, S and sword. Silver hilt fittings show light surface wear to eagle head pommel and oak leaf embellished crossguard. Dark brown, shortened stag horn grip plates show virtually no surface wear with no cracks and one chip on reverse side above crossguard. Third Reich period police grip emblem with eagle surmounted by oak leaf wreath shows almost no wear. Plated blade grades EX++ showing minor surface wear/runner marks and minor speckling/graying to plating. Blade is correctly marked on the spine with asterisk over the letter “K”. Black leather scabbard and scabbard fittings show surface wear but no dents. Black frog grades EX++/Near MINT and is marked on the back “vdHORST, LEIDEN 1941”.
