Description
The reverse ricasso is maker marked “CLEMEN & JUNG, SOLINGEN” with the company’s “Z” inside a shield surmounted by a stylized crown insignia. The blade is 33 1/4 inch and retains its’ matte finish and grades Exc++ with light speckling but no chips or nicks to cutting edge. The point of the blade remains intact. The buffer pad is present. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard shows wear, however it remains completely dent-free and retains 60% of its paint. The upper scabbard fitting is steel based, plated and remains tightly secured with two screws. The steel based plated hilt and D-guard also remain in good condition with some minor wear/oxidizing and plating loss. The black grip has one chip on the obverse upper side of the grip and appears to be loose. The zinc police eagle is tightly secured with some wear and oxidizing. The black burnishing to the cast ferrule wonderfully displays detailed oak leaves and acorns all hand worked.
