Description
WKC Knight’s torso stamped TM. A photograph of this sword appears on page 264 of Swords of Germany 1900/1945 by John R. Angolia. Gilded hilt fittings show surface wear/age patina to eagle head hilt, oak leaf embellished backstrap and knuckle-bow, as well as stylized eagle crossguard. One small area shows wear and exposed aluminum on the upper portion of the Eagle’s head. Black celluloid grip shows light surface wear with no cracks or chips, and is complete with tight triple twisted gilt wire wrap. Blade grades EX++, showing light surface wear/runner marks but, no nicks to the cutting edge and is complete with original brown/black leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free scabbard retains approximately 94% of its original black enamel, which shows surface wear/crazing, and some minor scuffing. Attached to the hilt of the sword is an original sword knot with silver & green striped crown and acorn. Knot grades VG+/excellent, showing overall age and wear to strap and acorn. EX.
