Description
Carl Eickhorn, deeply etched Squirrel-holding-sword TM. Nickel-plated hilt fittings show light surface wear with some light speckling to the satin finish on the pommel, spine and crossguard, with portions of factory frosting remaining in the recesses of the crossguard detail. Dark brown stag horn grip plates show light age toning but no chips or cracks. Polished blade grades EX showing surface wear/runner marks with uniform gray shadowing/speckling, but no nicks to cutting edge. Deeply etched motto with some gray speckling retains 100% of the dark gray background frosting with reverse marked with the RAD diamond and “Ges.Gesch” (patent pending). Dent-free steel scabbard retains approximately 95% of the original black enamel showing uniform surface crazing to obverse and reverse shell. Dent-free, nickel-plated scabbard fittings show minor surface wear with much factory frosting remaining, and no damage to the scroll-work on the upper fitting or the wheat and spade motif on the lower fitting which appear to have been frosted instead of darkened. The scabbard shows minor oxidation with all four, undamaged scabbard screws present with some oxidation to screw heads.
