Description
No maker. Gilt washed hilt fittings show light surface wear to eagle head pommel and crossguard featuring an eagle with spread down-sloping wings showing green verdigris. Black fluted hard rubber grip shows minor wear and chips but, no significant cracks, or damage. Single etched, nickel-plated blade grades excellent – with much speckling to entire length of blade. Reverse ricasso is stamped with number 57 and obverse appears to have a faint maker mark. Blade features etched Hungarian Crown and Eagle. Dent-free, gilt washed scabbard shows light surface wear and features a large embossed Hungarian crest on the upper obverse, with a mixture of beaded bands, stylized feathers, and thin flutes. Attached to the scabbard is a correct set of hangers which grade EX+ with one minor cut toward the upper snap-link.
