Description
A very nice maker marked E. Pack (E. P. & S.) – Solingen dagger. The grip is deep wood toned with a chip to the upper right-hand corner of the and some deep cracks above the SS rune. The bottom part of the grip next to the lower crossguard also has a couple small chips with one hairline crack on the obverse side. The reverse side of the grip appears in EXC++/Near Mint condition. The grip fits perfectly with the solid nickel crossguards. The SS roundel shows wear due to age. The grip eagle is perfectly inserted and retains 100% of its factory detail. The anodized scabbard is scratch free with a couple very small dents on the upper edge opposite of the 0-ring. The scabbard fittings are in NEAR MINT condition, with the exception of the lower ball which is indented on the bottom. The scabbard screws are intact. The blade fits perfectly into the scabbard. The blade has speckling and runner marks but is still deeply etched and the tip of the blade is intact. These early Ernst Pack & Söhne SS daggers are harder to find, and more desirable as the years pass.
