Description
Hand carved wooden facsimile hewer measures 15 ¾” in overall length and features silver/aluminum-painted hilt and scabbard fittings, simulated staghorn grip plates, and black painted scabbard. Obverse scabbard is lettered in silver paint, “Zur Erinnerung an Meine Dienstzeit-1937-39”. This commemorative item was, most likely, carved by the original owner while serving his RAD Service obligation. Note: Hewer is carved in one piece and cannot be disassembled. Overall shows wear to paint, but no damage to wood. Unique commémorative! EX.
