Description
No maker, which is correct for this 1936 chained SS dagger. This is the SS dagger nearly all Third Reich dagger aficionados would like to have in their collection, but a small number do because of the challenge in locating. Nice black ebony grip with perfect fittings, insets, and no chips. Internal crossguards are deeply stamped “P” and “A” (Piel and Adey casters in Solingen). Beautiful blade grades EX++ with minor runner marks and minor speckling to obverse/reverse sides of blade. Grip fittings are nickel silver plated and the lower scabbard has an “He” mark on the reverse side. Black lacquered scabbard has no dents and retains 99% of original paint. The chain and scabbard fittings are reproduction, but show no dents or scratches and are complete with 4 original dome head screws. The lower fitting shows slight crack on each top edge, but otherwise remains intact with no other damage including the ball. EX++
