Description
Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. This sword includes the blade, scabbard and pommel nut, but is missing the handle. The double etched blade has some rust towards the tip and is not in perfect condition, but is quite ornate with one side of the central blue panel reading “Bayr. Reiter Regiment No 17” and the other with a large horse mounted calvary charge. You can imagine the owner having the detailed etchings created as tattoos are today, symbolizing something from his service. There are draped cloths, eagles, helmets, sabres and more. It is stamped with the single squirrel in the double oval above the C.E. trademark. The scabbard is straight with a fixed carrying ring, although also showing its’ age.
