Emil Voos – Solingen GES. GESCHÜTZT “Serpent around a stump” TM. This early HJ Knife is nickel-plated over a steel base which has a ding on the top of the hilt and minor graying on obverse side. The blade has been sharpened which was common and the acid-etched motto Blut und Ehre! (Blood and Honor!) is faintly legible in the light on the obverse side. There is graying and runner marks on the blade. The bakelite grip plates are in excellent condition, retaining their two aluminum rivets. The HJ insignia is also in very good condition, not loose, and with the enamel fully intact. The scabbard shell retains approximately 60% of its original paint and is dent free. The leather strap shows a lot of wear and the belt loop apparently came loose and was reattached to the lower section close to the scabbard shell. The snap still works properly.
