Gottlieb Hammesfahr (pyramid with cross) trademark. This exceptional condition dagger is one of several nice SS daggers from a recently purchased SS dagger collection. This early, numbered 1933 SS dagger has everything going for it that a dagger collector could ask for! This is the personal sidearm of SS-Mann Walter Dautel (SS No. 71664). Complete with the dagger is a notarized complete dossier on SS member compiled by SS sleuth, historian Ross Kelbaugh. Dautel held NSDAP Membership No. 1503618 and served in Motorsturm II/I. SS-Standarte. The detailed dossier of Dautel (a $200 value) include his personal photograph. Dautel’s SS number “71664” is deeply stamped on the bottom of the lower crossguard. Early Nickel/Silver fittings are in beautiful condition. Exceptional condition scabbard and blade. “III” stamped on reverse crossguard. Well defined Hammesfahr trademark.
